The Valleyview and East Business Association held its Annual General Meeting on Friday, November 28, 2008.
VEBA ANNUAL MEETING
At Edward Jones, Nov.28, 10 a.m.
Present: Charlie Jackson, Lynn Vicars, Dale Clark
1. The minutes of April 25/08 were read. The planned membership drive meeting for June 20th was not held.
2. E-mails are not being received by members to receive notification of business meetings. Charlie will get e-mail list for communication of minutes and news.
3. The current webpage is being updated (www.kamloopseast.com)
4. For registration and webpage costs, there are enough finances to keep going until Spring.
5. The last newsletter from Spring was not sent out to members.
6. Charlie will create a new Fall newsletter to be e-mailed and uploaded to webpage which will include a review of our purpose, history, possible future issues (by-pass relocation) and the renewal of memberships.
7. There are several new businesses which have moved in to Valleyview.
8. It was confirmed that we have renewed our Chamber of Commerce membership and noted that they do represent our interests on a city-wide scale.
9. The P.O. box needs to be renewed once notice is received.
10. An idea for a local physical plot as a centre for VEBA be investigated for signage and advertising: possible location could be the south-east corner of Highland and the Hwy1 service road. Lynn will contact person for Highway rules and regulations.
11. If we are to communicate to our members, it was noted we need an e-mail address for VEBA. Charlie will get help to set that up.
12. The current executive members have agreed to remain in place for 2009.
13. Needed before year-end (Dec.30) is a fiscal statement.
14. Next meeting planned for March or April 2009.
