Seasons’ Greetings to all.
The past year has brought a multitude of opportunities and challenges. As we look forward to 2009 the Valleyview and East Business Association has committed to continuing to act on the behalf of members. The minutes from our 2008 AGM can be accessed from either the Downloads page or the December 6, 2008 issue of the Valley View. Both can be found on the website.
We thought a review of the history of the organization might be of interest to any new businesses or arrivals in the area.
The Valleyview and East Business Association was formed in September 1998 to promote existing businesses in east Kamloops and to attract new businesses to the Kamloops East area.
Our area currently extends east from the Valleyview Interchange and south from the South Thompson River to the Kamloops city limits. This comprises the Rose Hill, Valleyview, Juniper Ridge, Dallas, Barnhartvale and Campbell Creek areas.
Membership is voluntary and open to anyone who wants to promote business in our area. You do not need to be from our area, have a business license or even be a business.
We enjoy excellent access from the East Trans-Canada Highway and the traffic through East Kamloops is expected to double within the next 20 years. Entrepreneurs looking to start new businesses in Kamloops are invited to contact us and check out other resources on our links page.
Membership Benefits
What can a local organization give me that I do not already get from the National, Regional and City Organizations that I already belong to?
* bulk advertising drawing customers to our area
* local networking opportunities
* grapevine to local information affecting you
* representation of local issues to other organizations
* attraction of new businesses to our area
* a better community
You get all this for just $50/year. Visit our Downloads page on the website to download our Membership Application form.
We also invite anyone with questions or in need of more information to contact us anytime. More members mean more voices as situations arise that may need our attention. If you would like to help with a membership drive, please let us know.

Currently we are investigating advertising and signage possibilities at a high profile area on the Trans Canada Highway. On the horizon there is always the Highway Bypass concern that may become an issue.
In closing we wish you a very safe and happy holiday season and all the best for 2009.
