The Kamloops Chamber of Commerce annually recognizes businesses, organizations, and/or individuals for outstanding achievement. The winners and finalists will be showcased at the Business Excellence Awards Gala Banquet to be held in the TRU Grand Hall, on October 18, 2008.
Prior to the Gala Dinner, a number of important events will take place to ensure that all nominees are given the appropriate consideration.
Currently a Selection Committee comprised of a variety of business and community leaders in Kamloops is reviewing all of the nominations and are preparing to select the three finalists for each of the 14 award categories. To celebrate all of the businesses who were nominated and to announce the three finalists in each award category an “invitation only” Nominees Reception will take place at the Aberdeen Mall in September.
On September 18th, once the finalists have been announced the real fun begins! Chamber members have the exclusive opportunity to vote for their favourite business or business person of the year. Voting will take place from September 18th to October 2nd and during that time the Chamber website receives a flood of visits from members who can electronically cast their vote. Last year the Chamber website saw a dramatic increase in the number of visitors as members were researching background information posted on each of the finalists so an informed vote could be made. When the voting is all-said-and-done, the winners are announced at the Gala Dinner and presented with a certificate for their achievement, a star award, great media exposure and the rights to use the Business Excellence Awards logo.
